The sporting spirit has shaped communities since the beginning of time. Sport gives us confidence for life and teaches us skills needed to be healthy adults. Sport teaches us things like perseverance, respect for others, and humbleness. At each of our Stateside Adventure partner camps we encourage the spirit of fair play and improving your skills as an athlete and person.

girlpond.jpgRiding camp is a high society style of camp that takes your child deep into horse-riding culture. Taught by experienced riding instructors, Riding camp offers daily instruction leading to an actual Horse Show competition mid-summer. Polo is also offered, allowing campers to learn the basic skills of this exciting sport: tactics, hitting techniques, and rules. Foxhunting is conjoined with horse-riding culture, and is a program offered to teach your child the rules of etiquette in the hunt field.

Golf & Tennis Camp are another form of high society style camp combining the theme of Traditional camp with sports focused activities. A variety of camps we can consult for you, our camps are taught by top golf school PGA instructors or former pro Tennis players. These camps are determined to offer the best quality instruction and simultaneously be that home away from home that nurtures your child into growing into a mature and well-rounded individual- once again following suit with the traditional core values of Traditional Camp.

At Stateside Adventures partner hockey camps, we offer the chance to improve your child’s skills on and off the ice, led by some of the nation’s top qualified instructors and former pro players. Camp consists of on ice training along with friendly to competitive competition, and visits to actual NHL or Division 1 College Hockey games.

At our camps we have experienced and caring staff that want the best for your child and will ensure that they will feel safe both emotionally and physically while they are trained to perfect the sport that they love. Description:
The Maine Golf and Tennis Academy is America's #1 Junior Golf Camp & Junior Tennis Camp for kids, combining PGA Pro and USPTA Pro instruction with the traditional summer camp experience of Kennebec Camps. We were rated America’s best summer camp by Sports Illustrated KIDS.

A 100-year old, family owned and operated, specialty combination summer camp, Maine Golf & Tennis Academy is an all in one camp, a golf camp, a tennis camp and a summer camp. Campers live on a crystal clear lake in traditional cabins, with 8-9 campers and two counselors who live with them. 1. V-1 DIGITAL COACHING SYSTEM (GOLF AND TENNIS) - The High-Tech Video Analysis training center, for instant replay and instruction, right on their own Driving Range. Their range includes the same V-1 Coaching System used by Tiger Woods and his coach, Butch Harmon.

2. VECTOR LAUNCH SYSTEM- The Vector Launch Monitor calculates the exact distances the junior golfer hits each club (both carry and roll). Stateside Adventures @ International Riding Camp

Description:
Established in 1978 by Arno Mares, International Riding Camp is now the United States’ leading all girls ages 7-17 Riding camp geared towards horse lovers. With 3 hours of riding a day 6 days a week, campers can also enjoy a variety of disciplines: hunt seat equitation, polo and fox hunting. They also offer activities that typical camps also enjoy such as water skiing, tennis, and arts and crafts. A one day trip to New York City where campers ride their own horses on the bridle paths of Central Park, have lunch at an elegant restaurant and then take a stretch limousine to the FAO Schwartz toy store and the Manhattan Saddlery riding equipment shop is offered. Also available is the three day trip to Southampton Beach where campers ride on the beach, stay in lavish resorts, and splash in the ocean. Another enticing element is their organic food menu, one of the only camps in America with this option. A camp where the focus is on the love riding, students can gain close friendships while building their confidence on and off the horse.

Program:

home4.jpgTraining – Taught by experienced professionals. Students are evaluated and place into classes with riders of same ability. Campers ride in 1 of 3 riding ring, cross country course, or on trails. Obstacles include brooks, ditches, stone walls, post and rail, a drop fence, a water jump, and a vertical slide
Horse Shows – Weekly shows with maximum 12 campers each show. On camp horse shows every two weeks where campers can demonstrate their new riding skills. There are even classes for beginner riders.

Polo – Developed to allow beginners to learn basics of Polo: horsemanship, tactics, hitting techniques, exercises, and rules & regulations. Campers participating must be experienced riders.

Foxhunting – Available to limited number of campers during last two-week session of August. Campers learn of traditions of foxhunting and rules & etiquette in this high society sport.

Stateside Adventures @ Joel Ross Tennis & Sports Camp

Description:
Campers play and practice on a variety of surfaces. 17 tennis courts include red clay, har tru, outdoor hard, and indoor hard courts, assuring play rain or shine. Swim and play basketball, indoor soccer, dodge ball, etc. in the new pool/ gymnasium complex and play outdoor sports on the dozens of acres of immaculate playing fields and beautiful countryside.

The 3.5 - 6 hours of exciting daily instruction and match raises camper's games to new levels and giving them a great love of the game! Each camper is evaluated and placed in an appropriate group. Joel Ross Tennis & Sports Camp maintains a 1:4 counselor: camper ratio, assuring personal attention and quality instruction. Joel Ross is the only tennis camp private or prep that is accredited by the American Camp Association.

grabfuture0_0.jpgLadder matches-Every other night ladder matches are held in to keep the competition fierce so that our campers can improve rapidly. Ladder matches use a dynamic rating system that measures the performance of every player in every match. This is achieved by allowing players to challenge the player located either one spot or two spots ahead of them on the ladder. So depending on whether you win or lose your ranks is determined.

Evening Electives- After a great day how practice and playing we offer a variety of other activities such as canoeing, kayaking, chess, fitness circuit training, lacrosse, chess, crafts, fishing, softball and more.

New Electives -This year we have some exciting new electives including strength/ conditioning training, SAT prep course for 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, ESL training, squash, and cardio tennis!
